Who is this course for: This course will suit beginners looking for an introduction to working with clay, on the potter wheel. Or for those who have worked on the wheel before and would simply like a refresher. Participants will learn the basics skills required to make some simple forms on the potters wheel.

What should I wear/bring: Wear comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting messy. I have aprons for all. Please cut your nails before coming as long nails don’t work so well for throwing.

What to expect: I run a small pottery from my home in Ballyvaughan Co Clare, which is located in the heart of the Burren in the west of Ireland. I am a potter and all the skills you will be taught will be based around the principles of throwing clay on the potter’s wheel. Class sizes are small, full occupancy is 5 so one on one tuition is guaranteed.  A light  lunch will be provided, as will  tea, coffee and some sort of a  treat. Please let me know if you have allergies. Class starts at 10am and runs till 4ish, if you would like to spend more time in the pottery after 4pm to practice the skills that I have taught you are more than welcome to stay on.
